Before The Throne
by Fanny Crosby
Once more we lift our joyful eyes,
Once more our hearts we raise
To him whose kind protecting hand
With mercy crowns our days.
Within the Rock, the Rifted Rock,
Refreshing dew we share,
While Jesus comes our souls to bless,
And Jesus answers prayer.
Our faith mounts up on eagle wings,
From earthly toil we rise;
Above the brightest hills we soar,
And cleave the radiant skies.
If such our blest communion here,
What will our rapture be
When hearts are joined and hands are clasped
Beyond the narrow sea?
Chorus
Oh, sacred flame of Christian love,
That melts our hearts in one,
While here before the throne we feel
Our heav'n on earth begun!
