I'll Pray Unto God

When my heart is distressed and I faint by the way,
And the darkness is as black as a pall,
I will cast off my fear and to God I will pray—
To God who will hear when I call.

When I sin against God and my soul knows its guilt,
And I know that I've wondered away,
I will turn to the cross and my sin will confess,
To God for forgiveness I'll pray.

When my last hour comes and death knocks at my door,
And the summons my soul must obey,
I will trust in the cross and to Christ I will cling,
To Jesus when dying I'll pray.
