I'll Be With Thee

I will put my trust in Jesus,
As His servant did of old;
Though beset by many dangers,
I'll be safe within the fold.

Jesus gives His precious counsel,
And He says, "Be not afraid;"
Never can my foes o'ertake me
While I have His promised aid.

Tho' my way seem dark and gloomy,
Even dark as Israel's night,
Angel watchers are beside me;
They shall make my pathway bright.

When at last I hear the summons,
"Pilgrim, lay thy staff aside,"
Jesus, Thou art my Deliv'rer,
And with Thee I shall abide.
