Wondrous Story

I will sing the wondrous story,
Of salvation full and free,
How my Savior left His glory
To redeem and ransom me.

Heavenly story of salvation!
How the Son of God on high
Came to earth in rich compassion,
Gave Himself for us to die.

I will sing this blessèd story,
Gladly sing it everywhere,
Of the Savior’s matchless glory,
And the love His children share.

I will sing the story sweetly,
And when life is sinking low,
I will trust Him then completely,
For my Savior loves me so.
