Let Us Build On The Rock

On a firm foundation let us build our hopes,
And not on the drifting sand;
For the tempest's shock will surely come at last;
Then how can we safely stand?

On the Rock of Ages let us strongly build,
The Rock that is steadfast, sure;
On a firm foundation that no storm can shake,
That will to the end endure.

Christ is that firm Rock on which we all should build,
All other foundations fails;
If our hopes are firmly planted on that Rock;
We're safe, let what will assail.
